Processing factors for the assessment of pesticide residues revised
The EFSA* database of processing factors for pesticide residues has been updated. The factors consider any changes in the residue levels of unprocessed agricultural products compared to the final product.
T-2 and hT-2 toxin: indicative levels become limit values
The previous indicative levels for the mycotoxins T-2 and HT-2 toxin are now maximum residue levels for cereals and cereal products. They will apply from 1 July 2024.

Italian scientists, together with colleagues from the University of Bologna, have expressed concern about the contamination of spinach and foods containing spinach with tropane alkaloids.
